1. HFC refrigerant regulations, cutting emissions by 85% in 2036
Ahead of COP22 on the heels of the enforcement of the Paris Agreement, the 28th meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (MOP28) got underway in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, On October 15, an amendment to the Montreal Protocol was adopted by the nearly 200 member countries to cut use of alternative fluorocarbons that exacerbate global warming.

2. ebm-papst China Celebrates 20th Anniversary
ebm-papst has grown from its initial 13 employees in 1996 to 1,700 today. In addition to the Europe, China and Asia are one of ebm-papst Group’s largest markets. At the birthday celebration, Thomas Borst, managing director of Sales and Marketing, thanked the employees and customers for their commitment and many years of loyalty, attributing a strategically key continued role for the development of ebm-papst to China.

3. JCI Wichita Plant Named Award Honoree
The facility of Johnson Controls (JCI) Unitary Products Group based in Wichita, Kansas, the United States, has been named a Manufacturing, Wholesale, and Distribution award honoree by the Wichita Business Journal.
JCI’s Wichita facility employs more than 1,300 people who design, engineer, and assemble residential heating and cooling products in the United States.

4. Canton Fair Embraces 60th Anniversary-Highlighting on Smart Household Appliances
On October 15, the 120th session of China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened at Guangzhou Pazhou International Exhibition Center. Boasting participation of 24,000 enterprises, the Canton Fair is expected to attract 200,000 purchasers from 210 countries and regions worldwide.
