Chinese ATW market scale came to 987,000 units in 2014, representing year-on-year growth of 12.2%.
The Chinese strategy of ‘Greenization’ is a major opportunity for heat pump market penetration. ATW heat pumps have become widely adopted as a green replacement for boilers in commercial water heating applications.

1. Indian AC Market in the First Half of 2015
Air conditioner sales have mirrored the weather and posted erratic growth. The first half of 2015 saw room air conditioner (RAC) sales growing 7% to about 3.1 million units, up from 2.9 million in the first half of 2014. West India contributed the most to the growth, followed by East India, which has a small share of the total market at about 10%. The north and south of the country bore the brunt of the erratic weather and posted negative growth.

4. Chemours to Add New Refrigerant Production Line in China
Chemours, which became independent from DuPont in July, announced that it is adding a new production line for its Opteon YF (HFO-1234yf) in China. The new line will double its domestic low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant production capacity to meet increasing demands in the automotive and stationary air conditioner industry for its environmental protection features

5. Samsung Releases DVM S VRF in Shanghai
In early July, Samsung held its new product releasing ceremony for commercial air conditioners in Shanghai, which was attended by 100 dealers and consultants.  At the ceremony, Samsung launched its DVM S variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system. DVM S adopts the new third generation Samsung scroll compressor technology.
