Indonesia’s gross domestic product (GDP) recorded 5.0% growth in the period spanning January to March 2023, marking the sixth consecutive quarter above 5.0% since the fourth quarter of 2021. This is one of the highest growth rates in the world, and the government has set its 2024 GDP target at 5.3 to 5.7%. In addition, as a resource exporter, Indonesia has maintained a trade surplus since May 2020.
