World’s First Inverter ACs from Toshiba Recognized as an IEEE Milestone

On March 16, 2021, Toshiba Carrier was awarded for its achievement in developing and mass-producing the world’s first inverter air conditioners for commercial and residential applications in 1980 and 1981, respectively. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) recognized the achievement last September as an IEEE Milestone for the historical significance of the achievement in the electrical and electronics fields.
