2024-2025 Action Plan on Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction

At the end of May, the State Council issued its ‘Action Plan on Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction for 2024-2025’. According to the Action Plan, total coal consumption in key areas of air pollution prevention and control will be strictly controlled, the focus will be on reducing non-power coal consumption. This will include the closure and integration of coal-fired boilers, the substitution of clean energy for use in industrial kilns, and the continuous promotion of the treatment of scattered coal.
