Carrier to Develop Nextgen Heat Pump Rooftop Units

On June 12, Carrier announced that it was partnering with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in its Better Buildings Commercial Heat Pump Accelerator program. Running from 2024 to 2027, the Commercial Heat Pump Accelerator program is designed to speed up development and adoption of heat pump packaged rooftop units to replace natural gas heating and drive higher energy efficiency and electrification of buildings in the United States. According to DOE, these innovative packaged rooftop units can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 50% over rooftop units that use natural gas.
