UNEP and ASHRAE updated list of new refrigerant designations

In July 2024, UNEP and ASHRAE published a fact sheet to provide an update on ASHRAE Standard 34, available in English, Spanish and Russian. ASHRAE Standard 34 “Designation and Safety Classification of Refrigerants”, is a useful tool to refer to common refrigerants using simplified nomenclature, instead of chemical formulas. Refrigerants are numbered with an R-, followed by the number assigned by ASHRAE.
