1. Midea Releases Evox G3 Heat Pump System

On May 10, Midea released its new Evox G3 heat pump system, consisting of the Evox G3 heat pump and Evox G3 air handling unit (AHU), in the United States and Canada. Midea’s new system is designed to operate in regions with harsh winters. It provides 100% heating output down to outdoor temperatures of –13ºF (–25ºC), with effective heating operation down to outdoor temperatures of –22ºF (–30ºC).

2. UK Heat Pump Demand Rises Backed by Boiler Upgrade Scheme
As the UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) marked its second anniversary on May 23, 2024, demand for heat pumps has surged with applications up 93% in April compared with the same month in 2023. UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme pushes up heat pump demand in 2024.  The increase is fueled by offers from energy suppliers which can conduct certain heat pump installations at a similar price as fitting a gas boiler, and the introduction of cheaper electricity tariffs, reducing running costs.

3. Panasonic’s R290 ATW Aquarea T-CAP M Series
Panasonic’s Aquarea M series airto-water (ATW) heat pumps deliver efficiency and versatility for both residential and commercial heating and cooling. The heat pumps offer a sustainable solution by utilizing the natural refrigerant, R290. With capacities ranging from 9 to 30 kW, and reaching up to 300 kW in cascade, the heat pumps are designed to meet the demands of any installation.

4. İSKİD Announces Turkish HVAC&R Market Statistics in 2023
On May 17, Tunç Korun, chairman of the Board of Directors, İSKİD – the Turkish air conditioning and refrigeration manufacturers’ association - announced its statistics on the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) sector for the year 2023.  According to the report, Turkish production of split-type air conditioners, which have the largest market share, reached 2 million units in 2023 with a 4.5% increase compared with 2022. Additionally, with about 600,000 imported units, domestic sales reached 1.9 million units, indicating 35% year-on-year growth.

5. CAREL Grows with Its Diversified & Balanced Offerings
During Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2024 held in March in Milan, Italy, JARN visited a booth of CAREL, Italy-based global leader in controls for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry, and interviewed Roberto Sandano, chief sales and marketing officer, to hear about the company’s strengths that brought remarkable sales results in 2023.
