Lennox Announces Transition to R454B

On May 9, Texas-based HVAC manufacturer Lennox announced that it was transitioning its residential and light commercial product lines to use R454B refrigerant ahead of the regulatory deadline to transition to refrigerants with lower global warming potential (GWP). The move includes the company’s residential heat pumps and air conditioning units as well as its full line of commercial ducted split systems and rooftop units. These include the Lennox Model L and Enlight product lineups. Air handlers and indoor coils compatible with its R454B systems will also be available from some manufacturers.
