1. Panasonic and tado° Join Forces to Offer Smart Heat Pumps
Panasonic Heating & Ventilation A/C Company and tado° have set up a partnership combining state-of-the-art heat pump products and technology with market-leading smart heating control and energy management services, with a view to decarbonizing homes and helping customers to save on energy costs.

2. Midea Opens First U. S. Showroom in New York City
On February 26, Midea held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open its first showroom and distribution center in the United States, located in the New York City borough of Queens. These include ducted and ductless wholehome systems, window-type heat pumps, and heat pump water heaters. Much of the multifamily housing in New York City uses window-type units, and Midea is partnering with New York City and State in the Clean Heat for All Challenge to develop and deliver window-type heat pump units for cold climates.

3. LG Thailand Estimates 20% Growth Achieved in 2024
LG estimates that the Thai air conditioner market in 2024 will be worth about 34.3 billion baht (about US$ 935 million), expanding 20% from the previous year. Market growth is stimulated by hot weather, and the need to change to newer air conditioners with higher energy efficiency due to higher electricity costs. LG has an air conditioning factory in Rayong Province with an annual production capacity of about 2 million units, which are marketed in Thailand and exported abroad.

4. ICCC 2024 to Discuss Sustainable Cold Chain in Tokyo
The IIR Conference on Sustainability and the Cold Chain in 2024 (ICCC 2024) will take place on June 9 to 11, at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, and will be hosted by Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (JSRAE) and International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). This event is the eighth edition following seven conferences held in the United Kingdom, France, New Zealand, and China since 2010.

5. Copeland Announces Release of 50 hp Large Scroll Compressor Solution
In March, Copeland, a global provider of sustainable climate solutions, announced its launch of the Copeland 50 hp scroll compressor – an efficient and reliable compressor that is compatible with R32, R454B and R410A refrigerants and will help customers to build heat pumps with superior heating capability.
