1. Haier to Acquire Carrier’s Commercial Refrigeration Business
– Haier Refrigeration Business to Expand from B2C to B2B, a Milestone Leap
Through this acquisition, Haier will acquire Carrier’s commercial refrigeration solutions and associated services used in cold storage facilities as well as accumulated deep technical expertise and knowledge in commercial CO2 refrigeration. Adding these advantages, Haier Smart Home will expand its existing household refrigeration business to the commercial refrigeration business, promoting comprehensive cold chain strategy including food retail and cold storage. In addition, it will leverage Carrier Commercial Refrigeration as a core platform to expand into other use cases and applications in the commercial cold chain segment in the future.

2. Regal Hermetic Variable High Speed Permanent Magnet Motors
Regal Rexnord promotes a wide range of motors under the Genteq Hermetic brand for hermetic compressors used in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) applications such as chiller systems. Genteq Hermetic offers numerous technical solutions for variable speed systems with operating speeds of up to 30,000 RPM.

3. Contributions for 2023 AC Market - TURKEY
During the period spanning January to August 2023, according to İSKİD statistical data, imports of wall-mounted split air conditioners increased by about 10% year on year, and domestic market sales rose by almost 40%. Meanwhile, packaged air conditioners (PACs) showed a year-on-year increase of nearly 30% in imports and around 25% in domestic sales. Regarding production, Turkey has reached a split air conditioner annual production level of about 2 million units, with domestic sales surpassing 1 million units. With such a large production capacity, Turkey has become a production hub for air conditioners in Europe.

4. Panasonic to Quadruple Its Czech Production Capacity in 2025
On December 5, 2023, Panasonic held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new manufacturing building of Panasonic Heating & Ventilation Air-Conditioning Czech (PHVACCZ), in Pilsen, Czech Republic. With its new manufacturing building, PHVACCZ is expected to expand its annual production capacity, achieving a capacity of 550,000 units of ATW heat pumps in 2025.
