1. World Air Conditioner Market in 2023– Southeast Asia
Overall, the air conditioning market in Southeast Asia was effervescent in 2023. The main markets, in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia, all maintained good growth. JARN’s database shows that RAC demand in seven major Southeast Asian countries increased by 11.5% year on year in 2023. The tourism and other service industries are constantly developing. Commercial demand for cafés, pharmacies, etc., has stimulated the PAC market. The PAC market is estimated to have increased by 13.7% year on year.

2. Europe
JARN estimates that in 2023, the European RAC market decreased by 0.8% compared with 2022, amounting to 9.09 million units. The PAC market increased by 1.3% compared with 2022, reaching 714,000 units. Rising prices have hit the air conditioner market hard, dampening new demand for RACs. Almost all the air conditioner markets in Europe indicated sluggish growth, with the exception of Spain and Turkey.

3. Middle East
The Middle East economy is dynamic, driven by rising oil prices. Many countries in the region faced extreme heat during the summer. The air conditioner market in the Middle East grew well in compared with 2022. JARN estimates that the RAC and PAC markets in the Middle East are expected to have increased by 8.9 and 5.0%, respectively, in 2023. The total air conditioner market in the Middle East has reached 9.85 million units.

4. Africa
JARN estimates that the African air conditioning market increased by 6.0% year on year in 2023, reaching 3.79 million units. The growth of the African market is mainly attributed to the relatively smooth development of the North African market. However, the West African market was disastrous in 2023, especially in Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, and Ghana.
