On October 6, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a final rule on the phasedown of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants as part of American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act implementation. The final rule comes one year after President Joseph R. Biden ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol and aims to achieve its mandate of reducing HFC production and use by 85%.
