Shift to Low-GWP Refrigerants Coupled with Sustainable Cooling & Heating
2023-11-17
Considering recent abnormal weather patterns worldwide, the undeniable impact of greenhouse gases (GHGs) on global warming cannot be ignored. While most GHGs con-sist of carbon dioxide (CO2), the fluorocarbons currently employed as working fluids in the air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) sector possess a strong greenhouse effect. While their collective contribution to total GHG emissions remains relatively small, attention needs to be paid to the escalating utilization of AC&R equipment in the context of global warming.
