AHRI Releases September 2023 U.S. Heating and Cooling Equipment Shipment Data

U.S. shipments of residential gas storage water heaters for September 2023 increased 14.1 percent, to 348,773 units, up from 305,758 units shipped in September 2022. Residential electric storage water heater shipments increased 11.6 percent in September 2023 to 390,894 units, up from 350,198 units shipped in September 2022.
Year-to-date U.S. shipments of residential gas storage water heaters increased 3.6 percent, to 3,224,952, compared to 3,111,669 shipped during that same period in 2022. Residential electric storage water heater shipments increased 5.4 percent year-to-date, to 3,627,463 units, compared to 3,443,154 shipped during the same period in 2022.
