Welcoming the first heat pump module with super-low propane

2023-11-08
In a collaborative research project lead by the Fraunhofer-Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Danfoss supported the development of a new refrigerant-reduced heat pump module with a super-performance and limited use of propane by contributing charge-reduced heat exchangers. This low refrigerant charge allows for installation inside buildings without undergoing extensive safety precautions.

Heat pumps are considered a significant heating technology of the future, and their further development is an essential part of decarbonizing heating systems. This makes research into sustainable refrigerant solutions even more important.
