Heat Pump Sales Dip in Europe, Stakeholders Issue Warning

The European heat pump sector has issued a stark warning that without stronger and more consistent policies, European Union (EU) energy goals may not be met. The ambition of the EU is to install 60 million more heat pumps by 2030, to boost energy independence and decarbonize heating and cooling, but following a boom in sales in 2022, initial sales figures for 2023 show a worrying drop in sales, indicative of a broader trend.
