France Promotes Heat Pumps to Replace Combustion Heating

France has stepped up promotion of heat pumps as a means of replacing residential gasand oil-burning heating systems, and intends to ramp up national heat pump production in order to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The French Environment Minister Christophe Bechu announced the latest policy on September 26, as reported by Reuters.
