1. ICR 2023 Aims to Achieve Balanced AC&R for Global Society and the Environment
The 26th International Congress of Refrigeration (ICR 2023) took place over a period of five days spanning August 21 to 25, 2023, at the Palais des Congrès de Paris in France. The landmark Palais des Congrès venue is located close to the iconic Arc de Triomphe, and the Bois de Boulogne. This prestigious event was jointly organized by Association Française du Froid (AFF) and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR).

2. Hisense HVAC Attracts Customers with Its Excellent Products

3. DOE Awards US$ 46 Million for Research on Building Efficiencies
On August 7, the Department of Energy (DOE) announced awards for Buildings Energy Efficiency Frontiers and Innovation Technologies (BENEFIT) funding totaling US$ 46 million. Allocated through a competitive selection process, funding is being awarded to 29 research projects in 15 states nationwide for the development of advanced technologies and building retrofit practices to improve efficiency, affordability, sustainability, and resiliency. These advances and practices serve the goal of reducing building waste and increasing cost-effective building electrification.

4. Rotary Compressor Market Presents Five New Trends in First Half of 2023
According to ChinaIOL statistics, the rotary compressor industry in China saw an annual production volume of 232.618 million units in 2022, falling by 2.4% year on year. The first half of 2023 saw a total production volume of rotary compressors reaching 138.791 million units, rising by 10.8% year on year; the sales volume reached 142.549 million units, growing by 11.4% year on year, exceeding the level during the same period in 2021, hitting a new industry record. In general, the rotary compressor market presented the following five new trends in the first half of the year.

5. Mitsubishi Electric Expands RACs with World First Emoco-tech Function
Mitsubishi Electric installed emoco-tech, which measures people’s feelings and adjusts the air, for the first time in the world in its 2023 model of the Z series. For the 2024 model, the lineup of products equipped with emoco-tech has been expanded to 30 models in all four series. emoco-tech is unique air conditioning that combines Move Eye mirA.I.+, an infrared sensor that detects the room temperature and people’s thermal sensations to achieve optimal air conditioning, and emoco-eye, a vital sensor that measures a person’s pulse without contact and estimates the emotions of people by using a unique algorithm. In addition to energy-saving and comfortable air conditioning, it can measure a user’s feelings and adjust the air according to the selected life scene.
