EPA Issues Final Rule for HFC Allowances

On July 11, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final rule on its methodology for allocating hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) production and consumption allowances for the calendar years 2024 to 2028, as part of the United States’ HFC phasedown implementation. Allowances for calendar year 2024 will be announced by October 1, 2023.
