1. Panasonic to Return to Domestic Production of RACs for Japan
Japanese air conditioner manufacturers, which had successively moved their production bases to neighboring China about 30 years ago, are also showing signs of moving the production of products for the domestic market back to Japan.

2. LG Opens New U. S. HVAC Training Academy
LG Electronics USA has opened its latest HVAC Training Academy for the North American market. The facility is located inside its North American headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. This is LG’s fourth training academy in the United States, with others located in Alpharetta, Georgia, Orange County, California, and Dallas, Texas. LG also plans to open another training academy near Boston, Massachusetts, in fall 2023.

3. Systemair North America Moving towards Energy Efficiency, Electrification, and Decarbonization
JARN interviewed Jeff Bredeson, president of Systemair North America, a leading supplier of efficient ventilation products and solutions. He spoke on building codes shaping the region’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, regulations driving demand for more sustainable, energy-efficient solutions, and Systemair’s commitment to advocating for technical excellence in North America and beyond.

4. PHNIX Focuses on R290 Heat Pumps to Actively Promote Emissions Reductions
In recent years, PHNIX, a professional heat pump manufacturer headquartered in Guangdong Province, China, has performed very well overseas. In 2022, the company exported about 170,000 heat pump-related products. JARN visited PHNIX’s Nansha factory in Guangdong Province and learned about the stories behind this success.

5. Carrier AquaEdge 19DV Chiller Line Expands to 3,850 kW
The innovative AquaEdge 19DV has amassed more than five international accolades, including earning gold in the U.S.-based Consulting-Specifying Engineer Product of the Year Awards, Boilers & Chillers category and the RAC Cooling Industry Award for Air Conditioning Product of the Year in the System/Standalone category in London.
