The MIIT Supports Technology R&D on Heat Pump Air Conditioner

On June 21, 2023, the State Coun cil Information Office held its State Council policy briefing, to discuss progress in fostering high-quality development of the new energy automobile industry. Representative of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) noted that the department will support technology research and development (R&D) for heat pump air conditioners, high-safety full-climate power batteries and automobile heat management, to enhance power battery thermal runaway technology standards, so as to further strengthen the adaptability and safety of new energy automobiles in low-temperature environments, addressing the demands of consumers in alpine zones.
