During the pandemic, the air conditioner market frequently experienced shortages of inventory and was unable to meet demand, due to factory shutdowns and transport stagnation in China, the world’s largest air conditioner production base. Through this experience, air conditioning manufacturers around the world began to accelerate local production for local consumption. Japanese air conditioner manufacturers, which had successively moved their production bases to neighboring China about 30 years ago, are also showing signs of moving the production of products for the domestic market back to Japan.
