1. Danfoss Expands R290 Portfolio for Residential HPs with Highly
Danfoss entered into a global agreement with Highly, a global rotary compressor manufacturer, with a view to offering rotary technology to the residential heat pump market and some selective refrigeration applications. This partnership further strengthens Danfoss’ position as a preferred partner to accelerate the decarbonization of the heating sector.

2. METUS Opens New Distribution and Training Center
On April 26, Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (METUS) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open its new heat pump distribution and training center in Florence, New Jersey, the United States. The new 400,000 ft2 (about 37,000 m2) center is strategically located near the New Jersey and Pennsylvania turnpikes to provide efficient access for heat pump distribution to major metro areas in the northeastern United States.

3. The Global R32 AC Market – 2022 Overview Part I
In 2022, demand for R32 split-type RACs in the overall global market is estimated to have reached about 47 million units, with high single-digit growth compared with 2021. A breakdown of the global demand indicates 18 million units in China, 9 million units in Japan, and 20 million units in the other regions. The top 10 countries, India, Indonesia, Italy, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Spain, France, and Turkey, account for about 80% of R32 split-type RAC demand in the global market excluding China and Japan.

4. Chinese Manufacturers Promote Their HVAC&R Solutions at Canton Fair
The 133rd edition of China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, was held in Guangzhou in three phases from April 15 to May 5, with an offline and an online hybrid platform. By adding a newly completed zone for the first time, this year’s Canton Fair expanded its exhibition area from 1.18 million m2 to 1.5 million m2, hitting a new high. In this huge area, about 34,000 exhibitors gathered and promoted their products for buyers from 226 countries and regions all over the world. Online exhibitions were also attended by more than 35,000 companies.

5. Stiebel Eltron Investing €450 Million to Quadruple Its HP Production
German heat pump specialist Stiebel Eltron will expand the number of jobs at its main plant in Holzminden to around 1,200 by 2027. In addition, the production area for heat pump heating systems will be expanded to the size of four football pitches – the company is investing €450 million (about US$ 483 million) in the Lower Saxony headquarter for this purpose.
