In the UK, buildings make up for approximately 17% of all carbon emissions. Whilst the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) is being revised for countries within the EU, the UK's first Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, championed by leading industry organisations including CIBSE and RIBA, is pushing an initiative of 78% reduction in carbon emissions from our building stock and net zero respectively, in line with government targets.
