1. Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US Announces intelli-HEAT Dual Fuel System
The intelli-HEAT dual fuel system is an air conditioner and heat pump system designed to work with a home’s gas furnace to provide electric heating and cooling operation for much of the year. In warmer months, intelli-HEAT offers inverter-driven efficient cooling. In cooler months, the heat pump provides heating down to outdoor temperatures of –13ºF (–25ºC) through Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i) technology. When the outdoor temperature falls below this, the built-in control box switches operation over to the gas furnace as needed based on capacity and economic calculations.

2. LG Unveils Diverse Energy Efficient Heating Solutions
Making its global debut at the recently held ISH 2023, the international trade fair for HVAC plus water, LG’s Therma V R290 Mono bloc adopts R290 refrigerant, which has an exceptionally low global warming potential (GWP) of just three - meaning it already complies with European refrigerant regulations that will come into effect in 2025.

3. Engineering towards Net Zero - Report on ACREX India 2023
Organized after a gap of three years due to the pandemic that swept across the world, the expo was held over a period of three days from March 14 to 16 in Mumbai. The focus of workshops, conferences, and seminars held as a part of the expo was on engineering advancements and driving technological solutions towards net zero goals in the HVAC&R sector. There were almost 400 exhibitors, and the number of visitors is estimated at 42,000. The Curtain Raiser for the expo was held in the evening on March 13. The event was partnered with ABS Fujitsu General.

4. Green Bitzer Compressors Using Green Refrigerants
At EuroShop 2023 held from February 26 to March 2 in Düsseldorf, Germany, JARN visited Bitzer’s booth and interviewed Rainer Große-Kracht, chief technology officer (CTO), and Martin Büchsel, chief sales and marketing officer (CSMO), to hear about the company’s products with lower global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, higher efficiency, and digital technology.

5. China’s AC Production Capacity Increases by 20 M Units
There has been news of a series of production capacity expansion projects in the air conditioner industry in China. It has been estimated that air conditioner production capacity has increased by 20 million units from February to April 2023, further stimulating conflicts between supply and demand.
