Heat Pump Boom Unfurls across Europe in 2022

The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) reported that a record number of heat pumps sales has been reached in 2022: around 3 million heat pumps used for heating were sold, based on early data from 16 markets in Europe. This indicates an increase of 38% compared with 2021, which in turn demonstrated a 34% year-on-year increase. Sales in 2022 raised the total number heat pumps in Europe to around 20 million. Heat pumps are now providing heating to about 16% of Europe’s residential and commercial buildings, and avoiding 54 Mt of CO2 according to EHPA.
