On 22 February 2023, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and European Commission (EC) organized a joint workshop on ‘Support to REPowerEU: affordable, secure and sustainable energy for Europe. The aim of the workshop was to discuss the European Union’s efforts to reduce reliance on Russian fossil fuels, in particular natural gas, to review remaining vulnerabilities and consider what more needs to be done to address them in line with the EU’s REPowerEU objectives.
