Heat Pump Sales Up 50% in Finland

Heat pumps sales are soaring in Finland. Finnish Heat Pump Association SULPU statistics published by Jussi Hirvonen, executive director, show that heat pump sales grew by a staggering 50% in 2022, reaching a total of 196,000. The number of airto-air (ATA) heat pumps sold was 160,000. And sales of air-to-water (ATW) heat pumps grew by almost 60%, with 19,000 pumps installed. Sales of ground-source heat pumps (GSHPs) increased by about 20%, with 12,000 pumps sold. Sales of exhaust-air heat pumps for single-family houses fell by 20%, and this was the only sector that saw a decline.
