Russia experienced a cold spring and a cool summer in 2022. In the European part of the country, spring came late and was cold. In Moscow, it was colder than usual with monthly average temperatures of 1.97ºC in March, 2.99ºC in April, and 4.79ºC in May. In the summer season, the monthly average temperatures were also lower than usual: 0.1ºC lower than usual in June and 1.97ºC lower in July. At last, the first heat wave arrived on August 12, recording a monthly average temperature that was 2.36ºC warmer than usual in August.
