Switching to Heat Pumps in Germany Generates Savings

By switching from gas to a heat pump, consumers can save several hundred euros a year. This is the conclusion of an expert report by the consulting company Prognos on behalf of BWP, the German heat pump association. The BWP and the VZBV, the federation of German consumer organizations, are calling on the federal government to create a legal framework for large-scale conversion to heat pumps as quickly as possible. This would create an essential basis for implementing the goal agreed in the coalition agreement and revised again in the coalition committee in the spring of using at least 65% renewable energies for every heating replacement from 2024.
