1. Smart ACs – Actual Usage Status & Future Development

On the other hand, in the commercial and industrial air conditioner segments, where many types and numbers of devices need to be connected and are often installed in different places, IoT monitoring and management can provide great convenience and streamlining.

2. Ariston to Enrich Sustainable Heating with Centrotec Climate Systems
On September 15, Ariston Holding in Italy, a global leader in sustainable solutions for thermal comfort, announced that after a successful bidding process, a binding agreement has been signed with Centrotec for the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Centrotec Climate Systems. The transaction is envisaged to be consummated by December 31, 2022.

3. JCI Launches New Line of Efficiency RACs
Johnson Controls has launched a new line of residential air conditioners with rated efficiency of 14.3 SEER2 designed to meet the Department of Energy (DOE) minimum energy efficiency standards that will go into effect on January 1, 2023. Minimum energy efficiency standards for air conditioners and heat pumps were last revised in 2015. The new units come in capacities from 1.5 to 5 tons and are being offered at budget-friendly prices, in part thanks to the design featuring aluminum alloy microchannel coils.

4. Spanish AC Market in the First Half of 2022
In the first half of 2022, growth in the residential sector slowed, merely because the recovery in 2021 was very quick, as it had to compensate for the lack of activity at the height of the pandemic. In fact, the market value of the residential sector in the first half of 2022 was 18% higher than the average of the years 2020 and 2021. With regard to the commercial sector in the first half of 2022, it showed a similar increase of close to 18.5% versus the 19.2% recovery of the previous year. The market value of the commercial sector in the first half of 2022 was 29% higher than the average of the years 2020 and 2021.

5. Chinese RAC Market Shows Slight Decrease in Refrigeration Year 2022 (ending in August 2022)
According to certain statistics, refrigeration year (RY) 2022 saw a production volume of room air conditioners (RACs) amounting to 150.248 million units, falling by 2.4% year on year; the sales volume amounted to 149.766 million units, dropping by 1.5% year on year.
