Rheem Releases ProTerra Plug-in Heat Pump Water Heaters

On July 18, Rheem announced the launch of two models of 120V ProTerra plug-in heat pump water heaters. The 120V design is an industry first, and offers homeowners and plumbing contractors the ability to replace a gas-fired water heater with an electric heat pump without having to upgrade their electrical panel to 240V hardwired service. The heat pump water heaters achieve energy-efficient performance up to five times greater than a typical gas-fired water heater.
