Midea Building Technologies Aims to Be Global Building Technology Leader

JARN interviewed Henry Cheng, general manager of Midea Building Technologies (MBT) Division, Overseas Sales Company (OSC), to hear about its global business strategies to become the leading global building technology company.
With the slowdown in the growth of the traditional home appliance market, MBT has been playing an important role to steer the Midea Group to business-to-business (B2B) transformation. MBT constitutes the five main business units of Midea Group together with the other four units, namely the smart home business, industrial technologies, robotics and automation, and the digital innovation business. In addition to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and elevators, MBT provides low-carbon intelligent building solutions, such as a digital platform called iBuilding. As another core of our digital and intelligence integration strategy, iBuilding can connect all kinds of equipment from MBT and also other manufacturers in the ecological chain.
