1. Bangkok RHVAC to Come Back in September 2022
The Bangkok Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (Bangkok RHVAC) will come back to Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Thailand, on September 7 to 10, 2022, for the first time in three years. JARN previews here some of highlighted exhibits from global leading manufacturers such as Saginomiya, Kulthorn, SCI, Daikin and Bitzer.

2. Chinese Manufacturers Cope with Global Supply Chain Challenges
China is a key link in the global supply chain in the air conditioning industry, in which manufacturers are facing greater challenges and pressures such as production halts during lockdowns, high raw material prices, semiconductor shortages, and turmoil in Chinese currency and maritime traffic. Manufacturers are meeting these challenges by devising various solutions.

3. Italian ATW HP Markets Register Historic Growth in 2021
The Italian ATW heat pump market achieved impressive sales of more than 150,000 units in 2021, up from 57,000 units in 2020 and about 40,000 units in 2017. Of the total of 150,000 units, hybrid systems, a challenging new segment, represented about 62,000 units. Sales of hybrid systems significantly increased, due to a very positive match with special incentive plans launched by the Italian government to enhance energy efficiency in buildings.

4. New Energy Rating Norms to Push up AC Prices in India
The energy rating table for air conditioners in India changed beginning on July 1, 2022, tightening ratings by one level, thereby making existing product lines one star lower than they previously were. Therefore, a 5-star air conditioner purchased this summer will now fall into the 4-star category and so on, with much higher energy efficiency guidelines now outlined for 5-star models. Industry sources believe that this change will push up air conditioner prices by 7 to 10%, primarily due to the higher cost of production.

5. Annual Global Shipments of Panasonic nanoe Devices Exceed 10M Units
On June 9, 2022, Panasonic announced that global shipments of nanoe devices in the fiscal year ending March 2022 surpassed 10 million. The history of nanoe has its origins in the research and development (R&D) of air purification for living environments initiated by Matsushita Electric in 1997. The R&D of nanoe generation technology continued, and in 2005, the technology evolved from its original water-filled type to the Peltier type that utilizes moisture in the air. Its applications expanded to white goods such as room air conditioners (RACs) and refrigerators for household use, as well as housing equipment. Since 2007, it has also been applied to automobiles.
