1. ATW Heat Pumps Still Promising in Europe Despite Soaring Energy Prices
European demand for air-to-water (ATW) heat pump systems in 2021 increased by about 40% compared with 2020. Thanks to their advantages including high energy efficiency and renewable energy use, ATW heat pumps are highly evaluated in the context of carbon neutral polices bringing about a shift away from fossil fuels, and they are also eligible for subsidies.

2. MCE to Bring Essence of Comfort to the World
Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2022 will be held from June 28 to July 1 at Fiera Milano, Milan, Italy. For this edition, MCE will present a new digital platform from June 28 to July 6. MCE is a global event where companies in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R), renewable sources, and energy efficiency sectors gather and showcase the latest technologies, solutions, and systems for smart buildings in the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.

3. AGC Develops New Composition of AMOLEA 1123
AGC has successfully developed a new composition of AMOLEA 1123 (HFO-1123) based refrigerant, a low-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant that is expected to be the next-generation standard for air conditioners, in cooperation with the University of Tokyo.

4. JCI Advances Sustainable Cooling with ChillPAC Air Line of Air-cooled Chillers
On May 3, 2022, Johnson Controls (JCI) announced the launch of Sabroe ChillPAC Air chillers for industrial refrigeration applications in Europe. These highly efficient aircooled chillers use ammonia (R717) as a refrigerant and can be installed outdoors, providing facilities with a sustainable solution that does not require the construction of a machine room.
