1. JCI Prepares Channel Partners for DOE 2023 Efficiency Regulations
Johnson Controls (JCI) is preparing distributors and contractors for the new U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) appliance standards for residential and commercial equipment, which take effect January 1, 2023. The standards set new minimum heating and cooling efficiency requirements for residential and commercial central air conditioners and heat pumps, as well as commercial gas furnaces.

2. Chinese Centrifugal Chiller Market Has Growth Momentum
According to ‘the 2021 China Central Air Conditioning Market Report’ from aircon.com, the Chinese centrifugal chiller market increased by more than 30% over 2020, thanks to four major drivers: industrial projects, new infrastructure, large-scale public construction projects, and medical purification.

3. Honeywell Announces New Low-GWP Refrigerant for Supermarkets
Honeywell announced that it would offer Solstice N71 (R471A), a new refrigerant for commercial and industrial refrigeration that is optimized for supermarkets. The latest addition to Honeywell’s low-GWP Solstice lineup is non-flammable (A1) and has a global warming potential (GWP) of 148. It is a blend of the hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerants R1234ze(E) and R1336mzz(E), and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant R227ea

Samsung Electronics Saudi has announced a strategic partnership with Zamil Air-Conditioners focusing on climate solutions using variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology. This technology provides powerful performance and high energy efficiency while saving costs and space for consumers.
