Daikin Puts Noise-reduction Technology for ACs into Practical Use
2022-03-21
Daikin and Fujifilm have put to practical use new noise-reduction technology used for air conditioners. The new technology adopts Fujifilm’s noise-reduction technology. The practical realization of the new technology this time is the first success in the joint development tackled by Daikin and Fujifilm since 2019 with as theme ‘Noise-reduction for air conditioners.’ Fujifilm developed its noise-reduction technology using a cross-ventilation soundproof material by applying meta-material technology, technology that controls fluctuations of light using meta-material, to the acoustic field. It has been difficult until now to secure the cross-ventilation air volume necessary for ventilation and to reduce the air-blowing noise that follows, but now both are done simultaneously.
