NYC Bans Fossil Fuel Combustion in New Buildings

In December 2021, Bill de Blasio, then mayor of New York City, signed a local law requiring the phase-out of fossil fuel combustion in new buildings and accelerated realization of all-electric buildings. While other cities have enacted such bans, New York City is the first cold-weather city to do so, as well as the largest in the United States.
