1. Voltas Optimistic about Market Growth
In a statement at the end of 2021, Pradeep Bakshi, managing director (MD) and CEO, Voltas, said that we have successfully strengthened our market leadership position in the room air conditioner (RAC) business, with the highest lead over our nearest competition. We have also achieved a formidable presence and lead across all our other businesses, right from commercial refrigeration, commercial air conditioning, domestic and international projects, as well as our new home appliances business of Voltas Beko.

2. Frascold Contributes to District Heating for an Ecological Transition
Frascold and Solid Energy have combined forces to contribute to the diffusion of district heating and pave the way to an ecological transition by signing up to numerous projects in Denmark. The collaboration between Frascold and Solid Energy for the Galten facility began in 2019 with the creation of a system able to produce 45,000 MWh per year, obtained from 6 Frascold CXH screw compressors, suitable for use with a hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerant, for 3.5 MW of overall power. The subsequent expansion, in 2021, saw the addition of 12 CXH compressors for an increase in power of 7 MW.

3. OMS Machinery Focuses on Customer-oriented Machines
A new fully automatic shrink less expanding, degreasing and brazing line model is used for production of coils with a low height (below 600 mm). The new machine saves up to 30% electrical energy by applying a linear guide and a precise ball screw, and contributes to saving 3 to 5% of raw material by conducting shrink less operation.

4. Honeywell to Double Capacity of HFO-1234ze Production Facility
Honeywell has announced that it plans to double the capacity of its facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the United States that produces HFO-1234ze, which it markets under the brand name Solstice ze. Often used in supermarket refrigeration equipment, HFO-1234ze is classified as mildly flammable (A2L) and has GWP of less than 1. With the HFC phasedown kicking off in the United States, demand for low-GWP refrigerants continues to grow.

5. Haier Thailand Aims to Penetrate High-end Market in 2022
On December 17, 2021, Thansettakij News reported in a local Thai commercial newspaper that Zhang Zhenghui, chief executive officer (CEO) of Haier Southeast Asia, said that In 2022, Haier will launch new products in all categories to strengthen its product portfolio, and penetrate further into the premium market to continue to drive growth. The company aims to achieve sales of over 10 billion baht (about US$ 300 million) in 2022 and increase sales to 12 billion baht (about US$ 360 million) in 2023, thus becoming a leading brand in the electrical appliance market in Thailand.
