Mitsubishi Electric: Mixed-use buildings

The continuous growth of urban centers has prompted developers to look for solutions for modern buildings. Solutions that, with a modern interpretation, often take a cue from the past. The first examples of mixed-use developments date back to ancient Rome, where there was often the coexistence of shops, apartments, and administrative offices. Returning to the present day, we are witnessing less and less construction of independent buildings while, in order to use precious resources and space in a sustainable way, we tend to design complex developments that integrate work, home, shopping, transport, and green spaces.
