Non-face-to-face and non-contact needs are accelerating due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The manner in which goods are received is becoming more diversified, such as via courier and delivery services. In addition, the number of locker-type vending machines with a refrigeration or freezing function for purposes other than beverages is increasing. Vending machines that were used mainly for beverages are now used for a wide variety of frozen foods, vegetables, fruits, rice, cakes, and fresh flowers. Most recently, a vending machine selling frozen foods has been installed inside a subway station.
