The U.S. economy fell sharply in 2020 in the context of the pandemic. According to the IMF, the U.S. annual GDP growth rate in 2020 was –3.51%, down 5.7% compared with 2019. However, in 2021, the U.S. economy has recovered very well. The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced that the U.S. GDP increased by 6.5% in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same period of 2020.
