New Peer-reviewed Study Confirms Negligible Impacts of TFA
2021-11-21
A new peer-reviewed study published in Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics affirms that trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) from hydrofluoroolefin (HFO)1234yf refrigerant has a negligible effect on human and ecosystem health. Conducted by Colorado State University, the study simulated rainwater concentrations of TFA from atmospheric degradation of projected HFO-1234yf usage through 2040 in India, China, and the Middle East.
