1. Africa Proposes Cooling Appliance Market Transformation under the Montreal Protocol
Ghana, on behalf of Africa, has submitted to the Montreal Protocol a draft decision called a Conference Room Paper (CRP) proposing next steps in stopping the environmentally harmful dumping of new and used cooling appliances that are inefficient and use obsolete refrigerants.

3. Will AC Parts Shift from Copper to Aluminum?
Air condoning manufacturers are trying to reduce costs by replacing the more expensive copper with aluminum for air conditioner parts such as heat exchangers. Copper is a metal that does not easily rust, but aluminum is a metal that easily rusts due to electrolytic corrosion. Therefore, air conditioner and tube manufacturers are taking measures to prevent corrosion of products when switching from copper to aluminum, striving to maintain their product quality and ensure market reliability.

4. Deadly Heat Dome Spurs AC Demand in Pacific Northwest
The record-setting heat that descended on the Pacific Northwest region of the United States in late June sent temperatures soaring to 108ºF (about 42ºC) in Seattle, Washington and 115ºF (about 46ºC) in Portland, Oregon, the hottest temperatures ever recorded in the cities since recordkeeping began. Unsurprisingly, the heat wave caused demand for air conditioners to spike, with stores running out of air conditioning products and service technicians flooded with requests for repairs and installation.

5. Rotary Compressor Sales Grow by 18% YoY in RY 2021 with Slim Profits in China
The refrigeration year 2021 (RY 2021 ending in July 2021) has come to an end. According to finance.sina.com, rotary compressors for air conditioning saw a total sales volume of 236 million units, growing by 18% year on year, as compared with RY 2020. Despite the record-high sales, many enterprises have expressed concerns, and industry profits decreased.
