1. Lotte Mart in Vietnam Adopted Honeywell’s Solstice N40
Honeywell’s Solstice N40 (R448A) refrigerant has been adopted by supermarket retailer Lotte Mart for use in its stores across Vietnam, making it the first supermarket chain in the country to adopt it as a R404A replacement. Based on hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) technology, Solstice N40 offers a global warming potential (GWP) that is approximately 68% lower than legacy hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants such as R404A.

2. Global Container Shipping Situation Still Worsening
Compared with the beginning of 2020, current container rates from China, a major global production base, reportedly increased four- to five-fold to North America, South America, and Europe, five- to sixfold to the Middle East, and seven- fold to Southeast Asia. Despite rising costs, many companies are still aggressively securing containers and proceeding with shipments. For them, a bigger threat than the rising costs is the longer delivery time. Congestion in many major ports around the world further disrupts the logistics supply chain and significantly delays container shipping schedules

3. ATW Subsidies in France
For a number of years, the French government has provided incentives for heat pumps in the form of tax
credits called CITE. The French government’s subsidy system based on CITE for expenses related to energy savings is being replaced by a new French subsidy called MaPrimeRénov’ or My Renovation Subsidy in two stages. During the first stage, from January 1 to December 31, 2020, the MaPrimeRénov’ system was implemented for low-income households. Middle-income households which did not benefit from MaPrimeRénov’ were still eligible for CITE on a temporary basis until December 31, 2020. Beginning January 1, 2021, MaPrimeRénov’ became the only subsidy system for energy transition subsidies, and CITE was scrapped.

4. ATW Subsidies in United Kingdom
The RHI covers renewable technologies including biomass boilers, ATW heat pumps, ground-source heat pumps (GSHPs), water-source heat pumps (WSHPs), and solar thermal systems. The payments are designed to help cover the initial cost of the renewable technology that has been installed, and potentially to cover long term maintenance costs. Originally, the RHI scheme was intended to finish in March 2021, but the government chose to extend it by an additional year due to its popularity. When the RHI scheme ends in March 2022, it will be replaced by the Clean Heat Grant (CHG) beginning in April 2022. At the moment, the government is proposing to make the CHG available for just two years ending in March 2024, and the CHG funding is limited to £100 million (about US$ 142 million).
