Daikin Develops a New Refrigerant for EV Air Conditioning

Daikin has developed D1V-140, a refrigerant blend for battery electric vehicle (BEV) air conditioning. Daikin described the characteristics of this new refrigerant during a lecture titled ‘New Refrigerant for Battery Electric Vehicles Using Heat Pumps’ at the second IIR International Conference on HFO Refrigerants and Blends (HFO2021) that was held from June 16 to 18, 2021. The new refrigerant developed by Daikin reduces its environmental impact as well as significantly improves the heat pump performance of BEV air conditioners, which has been an issue up to date.
