The Canadian market is mainly a heating market, and many manufacturers are concentrating on heating capacity in their models. According to data from the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada  (HRAI), the Canadian mini-split and unitary air conditioner markets in January to September 2020 reached 148,000 and 267,600 units, with growth rates of –2 and 6% respectively.
