Kisan Rail Service Launched for Perishable Farm Produce

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kisan Rail service to ensure seamless connectivity between farms, markets, and consumers on August 7. The train is temperature-controlled, and will transport perishable items such as fruit and vegetables between Devlali in Maharashtra and Danapur in Bi- har. Indian Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced plans to start Kisan Rail in her budget earlier this year.
