Happy World Ozone Day!
2020-09-17
16 September, we celebrate the thirty-five years of success of the two ozone treaties: the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, first signed in 1985, and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, signed two years later and followed by several amendments including the historic Kigali Amendment. The two landmark agreements have fostered unprecedented international cooperation to protect human health and the environment by restoring the ozone layer and combatting climate change.
